Advice about presenting posters

There is advice about how to prepare a poster using Powerpoint on WebCT. (registered students)

There is no required size for posters other than that they should be a maximum of A1 or the equivalent in smaller sections. Part of the task is that you produce the content and the physical poster on your own, and at your own cost.

  • Staff are not expected to help you and the Division will not meet any costs you incur: you may need to consider this when deciding whether to present verbally or by poster.
  • As work will probably be ongoing, please do not go to great expense getting posters laminated etc. On the other hand, please do pay a lot of attention to content, clarity of your information and layout.
  • If you do wish to have a poster printed you can do this commercially, for example, at John E Wright and Co. Ltd, Drawing Office Suppliers, 115 Huntingdon Street, Nottingham Tel : 0115 950 6633.
  • There will be a small prize for the best poster presentation.
  • You should have your posters up for the start of the Conference.
  • People will be looking at the posters at specific times, and so you will need to be on hand to answer questions.
